Koç University IT offers qualified students part-time jobs to give students the opportunity to work in preparation for entering the job market while contributing the IT needs of the University. We have two programs for undergrads and grads.

See below to have an idea about what we need in general. Occasionally we will also need specific help in other areas and if so we will announce such need. And do not hesitate to give us a shout if you want to share your ideas or projects of your own.

User support (IT Mentor only)

  • After hours and weekend user support in campus
  • Student IT orientation trainings
  • Produce help documents & videos
  • Help with IT Web site content
  • Skills:
    • Ability to help others overcome tech issues
    • Tech savvy: Windows, Mac, IOS, Android, Wifi, Printers
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Productivity tools: graphics editors, web design tools, simple video editing etc.

Software Development

  • Develop software for IT projects
  • Skills:
    • Tools of the trade: Java, C++, Node.js, AWS, Linux, HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL, Git, Jira
    • WordPress
  • Mobile apps

DevOps, Network & System Administration

  • High Performance Computing infrastructure and Linux administration and user support
  • Develop tools for operations support:
    • Continuous delivery, issue tracking, performance monitoring, event management and automation everywhere
  • Hands on troubleshooting and operation of infrastructure elements

Requirements

  • You must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and
  • You should have the basic skills in at least one of the following areas:
    • Software Development
    • DevOps, Network & System Administration
    • User Support

  • If you pass the interview you will need to sign a Work & Study contract and go through the IT mentor orientation

Requirements

  • You must be enrolled in a Koç University graduate degree program.
  • You should have the skills in at least one of the following areas:
    • Software Development
    • DevOps, Network & System Administration
  • You should be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours of work per week for several months in a row.
  • You must have work permit if you are not a Turkish citizen or if you are enrolled in a degree program with thesis you must have approval from your thesis advisor.
