MS Teams: Setup your class team

Your classes are automatically created in MS Teams. If you are an instructor and you can’t find your class in Teams please submit a Trackit. Follow these steps to add students to your class.

  • Find your class team, then click More options More options …
  • Click Add member
  • Click the Students tab
  • Type in the name of the student(s) or group and click Add
  • If you’d like a student to have owner permissions select the arrow next to Member and click Owner
  • Click Close

MS Teams: Record a meeting

  • Start or join the meeting.
  • Go to the meeting controls and click More options … > Start recording.
    Everyone in the meeting is notified that the recording has started. The meeting notification is also posted to the chat history.
    You can’t make multiple recordings of the same meeting at the same time. If one person starts recording a meeting, that recording will be stored on the cloud and available to all participants.
  • To stop recording, go to the meeting controls and click More options … > Stop recording
    • The recording is then processed (which could take a while) and saved to Microsoft Stream, and then it’s ready to play.
    • The person who started the recording receives an email from Microsoft Stream when the recording is available. It also shows up in the meeting chat—or in the channel, if you’re meeting in a channel.

MS Teams: Share video recording on Blackboard

You can create a web link on Blackboard to an MS Teams video recording so that your students can access the video easily.

On MS Teams

  • Find your recording in Teams chat history
  • Click More options … > Get Link on the recording you want to share

  • The URL for your recording is displayed on the “Get Stream Link” window

  • Click “Copy” to copy the URL to the Clipboard for convenience

On Blackboard

  • Create a web link for your recording in the course contents using the newly copied URL in your clipboard
